The Great Dividing Range

FLORA AND FAUNA
The Great Dividing Range stretches for over 3,500 km and over three different states, this means that there are many different types of plants and animals to be found. Here are a few types of Flora that are native to the Great Dividing range:
The Acacia Decumens- also known as the Queen wattle, has yellow perfumed flowers that have poisinous bark, which was used by Aboriginals as medicine and for fishing
Eucalyptus aggregata- also know as the Black Gum. It is regarded as an endangered species but it can grow up to 18m!
Eucalyptus quadragulata- grows on the eastern side of the Great Dividing Range as far as Queensland. The leaves are favoured by Koalas.
Fauna:
Kangaroos, Wallaby's, Possum's, Wombats, Koalas, Parrot's, Kookaburra's and Echindnas are all found in the Great Dividing Range.
